Job Description: Special Police Officer (SPO)
Duties:
- Enforce laws and maintain public safety
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to those in need
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests as necessary
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken
- Provide traffic control and enforce traffic laws
- Assist with crowd control during special events or emergencies
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and emergency services - - MUST BE ABLE TO STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME - MUST BE ABLE TO USE A PHONE (UPDATING YOUR FEED EVERY HOUR O THE HOUR) TAKING PICURES AND WRITING OUT WHAT YOU OBSERVED - WALKIE TALKIE (RADIO) SAVY - ABLE TO UNDERSTAND RADIO TALK
Experience:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
- Completion of a certified police academy training program (OPTIONAL)
- Previous law enforcement experience is highly desirable (OPTIONAL)
- Knowledge of criminal justice procedures, laws, and regulations (NOT REQUIRED)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
